Went to the Imperial War Museum (IWM) in London and had a good look as areas in which a model maker may have been involved in the construction. As well as the obvious small scale models there were alot of interactive areas (eg submarine section) giving people the chance to get a sense of the feel in vehicles ect during the war.
Got contact details for the Head of Exhibitions and will call tomorrow to get an email if possible and probably briefly discuss my ideas for research.
Tomorrow: Must write up emails of my basic research plan in order to send out requests for visits. Ring and write to as many as I think I can make time to see (preferably the same number of both museums and model making studios.
